Beardslee Academy provides a child-centered environment, which develops a comprehensive educational foundation and supports the students to be college and career ready and equipped with 21st-century skills. Our goal is for every child to build a positive self-image, become a responsible member of society, and embrace the rich diversity of the global community

Vision 

Beardslee Dual Language Academy is committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive education that supports both Dual Language Immersion and English-only programs from PreK to 8th grade. We foster a diverse and equitable learning environment where all students develop critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills to reach their full potential. Through rigorous instruction, cultural awareness, and a commitment to bilingualism and biliteracy, we empower students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. At Beardslee, we celebrate diversity, honor all languages, and unite as a community to inspire lifelong learners and future leaders.

 

At Beardslee Academy, we are dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student is seen, valued, and challenged to reach their full potential. Our work is grounded in a commitment to best first instruction, where teachers use student data to plan and deliver lessons that are purposeful, responsive, and aligned to grade-level standards. We focus on developing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—and we believe that a strong school-home connection enhances every part of a student’s experience.

We are proud to offer a Dual Language Immersion program for students in TK through 8th grade, promoting bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural understanding. Students in this program receive instruction in both English and Spanish, gaining a strong academic foundation while developing language proficiency in both languages.

 

We are equally focused on creating a middle school environment that meets the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of our 6th through 8th grade students. Through rigorous instruction, targeted support, leadership opportunities, and extracurricular activities, we are working to ensure that our middle school students feel a strong sense of identity, community, and preparation for high school and beyond.

 

Beardslee also maintains a strong commitment to the arts. Our students benefit from access to instrumental music, general music classes, and dance instruction, which are integrated into the school year across grade levels. These programs not only enhance creativity and self-expression but also support academic learning, build confidence, and foster a well-rounded educational experience.

 

In both elementary and middle school, we prioritize literacy and foundational math skills, ensuring that students receive targeted support when needed and enrichment when ready. Through our use of assessments like STAR Renaissance, teachers are able to identify strengths and areas for growth, engage students in goal-setting, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.

 

In addition to academic achievement, we emphasize positive behavior and school culture through our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework. Our goal is for every student to feel safe, respected, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. Social-emotional learning is embedded into our daily routines, and we believe in nurturing not just capable students, but kind and compassionate people. We are proud of our dedicated staff, strong instructional programs, and the many enrichment opportunities available to students across grade levels.
