TEACHER, K-6 HEATHER MULLIN » Meet Ms. Mullin

Meet Ms. Mullin

Greetings! My name is Heather Mullin. I was born and raised in Southern California. I feel this has made me a little spoiled, because I have been exposed to beautiful weather and exciting California landmarks all my life.

I started my college career at Pasadena City College strictly to play softball. That is also where I chose to start my path towards teaching as a profession. I transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I earned my bachelor's in liberal studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I earned my MA in Educational Leadership at Concordia University. This is my Seventeenth year as an educator.  I have taught in three school districts (Mountain View School District, Duarte Unified, and Glendale Unified), but I call Duarte Unified my home. I have experience teaching grades second through seventh. I have also taught elementary physical education and reading intervention. I am currently teaching sixth grade English, History, Physical Education, and an AVID elective. Currently, I sit on our union's negotiations team.  I also sit on our school-site leadership, and I am a teacher induction mentor for Foothill Consortium.

On a personal level, I am always on-the-go! I spend a lot of time cheering my kids on in their activities. When I find free time, I am probably spending time with my favorite people at either Disneyland or Dodger Stadium. I’m a big sports fan! The Los Angeles Dodgers and Kings are my teams.  Each summer I spend time relaxing lakeside in Lake Tahoe. I also enjoy wakeboarding, snowboarding, and going to country music concerts. I have been known to go country line dancing too. I am most proud to be the mother of my beautiful daughter and handsome son.  I have two adorable fur babies I adore too.

I look forward to teaching your child! Amazing things happen in room 24!
