Meet Mrs. Cates

As the Dual Language Kindergarten teacher, I am dedicated to fostering a bilingual environment where students can thrive in both English and Spanish.

With 28 years of teaching experience in the Los Angeles Unified, San Marino, and Duarte Unified School Districts, I am passionate about supporting students' growth and development. I hold a BA and a Multiple Subject Credential from Whittier College (Go Poets!), along with a California Language Acquisition and Development Certificate (BCLAD).

Having learned Spanish from my family at home, I bring a personal understanding of language development to my classroom. Outside of teaching, I am a proud wife and mother of two beautiful children, who are my greatest joy. (Go Ducks! Go LCAD!)
