About the teacher

My name is Sandra Casas-Burlo, and my journey has taken me from the vibrant streets of Spain to the picturesque landscapes of Ireland, and across the diverse tapestry of both the East and West coasts of the United States. Alongside my loving husband and cherished son, I have embarked on this remarkable adventure called life. A shared passion that unites us all is the thrill of traveling and immersing ourselves in diverse cultures and lifestyles.

With an extensive career in education, my unwavering commitment is to unlock the full potential of each student. My aspiration is to cultivate classrooms that are not only enriching but also captivating. To achieve this, I craft meticulously tailored lesson plans that align with each student's unique learning pace, fostering an environment where curiosity flourishes.

My teaching journey began in 2007 and spans across kindergarten, elementary, and high school levels. Of those years, 11 were spent as a tenured public-school teacher in Spain. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education, as well as a Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from a University in Spain.

In the United States, I taught Spanish at PGCPS in Maryland from 2015 to 2018, as part of the World Language Program. During the 2022 school year, I instructed Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 at Champs Charter High School of the Arts in Van Nuys. Additionally, I have been working in the Duarte Unified School District since 2023 in the Dual Spanish Program.
